Daria Medvedeva is the wife of Daniil Medvedev, who got married after dating for four long years. The Russian has since then had a meteoric rise going up all the way up to the No. 2 spot and challenging Novak Djokovic in the rankings system. He is currently ranked number 3 in the world.

The couple currently live in Monte Carlo, Monaco. They aren’t the only ones with a tennis background that reside in The Principality. Tennis stars Stefanos Tsisipas and Alexander Zverev also reside in this region of Western Europe.
Medvedev’s wife, Daria, is a former tennis player who now works in the journalism industry for a company. Daria was born and raised in Moscow, Russia similar to her husband. Daria also used to work as a model.
In January 2022, Daria also shared how she met Daniil, and the pair were just kids during their first meeting. She was just 12 and met the Russian ace during a junior tournament. Medvedeva was eating at a café with a few of her friends and heard someone howling:
“Suddenly, we hear someone howling, crying, the sound of a racquet being thrown. My mom asks what’s going on. Veronika Kudermetova’s dad starts laughing, ‘It’s Medvedev playing. You don’t know him?’ We went to watch him.
It was something else,” Daria Medvedeva told Tatler. “Three and a half hour match. Moonballs, 50-shot rallies… From his childhood Danya used to fight till the end, he was prepared to do anything on court, no matter how ugly his game may look, in order to win.
“In this sense, he hasn’t changed at all.”

Daria’s father’s name or mother’s name is not updated yet as she has not disclosed the information. Her mother is a house-maker while her father’s profession is not known.
Daniil’s parents are Sergey Medvedev, a computer engineer and his mother, Olga Medvedeva. He has two older sisters: Julia and Elena. Medvedev began playing tennis at the age of nine in Moscow. He moved to France for further training in his teenage days.
Talking about his wife’s influence in his career, he said: “She gave me a lot of confidence. I always say that it’s the moment I made the proposal to her, that’s when I started to go up. She’s one of the most important members of my team.”

Medvedev started his career in 2015 and made his ATP main draw debut at the 2015 Kremlin Cup. He won his first career title at the 2018 Sydney International. Medvedev also is a winner of the Tokyo Open and Winston-Salem Open in 2018. A year later, he won at the Sofia Open, Cincinnati Masters, St.Petersburg Open and Shanghai Masters. In 2020, he won the biggest title of his career in London winning the Paris Masters and ATP Finals.
However, more was to follow for the Russian in 2021. He still finished second behind Novak Djokovic but he won the 2021 US Open by beating the Serbian in the final.
Former French professional Gilles Cervara has been coaching Daniil Medvedev since 2017. He was named the coach of the year in 2019.
Russian has reached Grand Slam finals at the 2019 US Open and 2021 Australian Open. Medvedev played once in the quarterfinal at the French Open, while Wimbledon has proved to be his worst test never making the last 16 in his career.
Medvedev captured his fourth ATP Masters 1000 crown in Toronto beating American Reilly Opelka 6-4, 6-3 to become the first Russian champion since Marat Safin in 2000. The Russian currently has 20 career titles to his name in singles – with One Grand Slam and One Tour title.

According to sources, Daria herself also used to be a tennis player. She retired from the game at the age of 17-18 owing to an injury. Later she had also joined the modelling industry. As per reports, she currently works as Danii’s personal assistant. During her college days, she was heavily involved in various junior championships. She is an alumnus of MGIMO (Moscow State Institute of International Relations). She later graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University

The couple have not spoken about having children yet. With Medvedev travelling on tour, his wife follows him to most venues, but also stays back to focus on her profession.
