Dark & Lovely x The Sims x Ebonix – The Sims Pushes for Great Representation with Hair Textures and Cultural Nuances

Published by

The Sims x Ebonix collaboration is here to educate the gaming community about diversity and inclusion in this industry.

The developers of The Sims games have always been keen to include diversity and inclusion in their community. The developer Maxis considers inclusivity as one of their key values and for a game like Sims, it is especially important for everyone in the gaming community to feel included as a part of a union.

The developers had a chance to work with the beauty brand Dark and Lovely and award-winning content creator Ebonix. The result was called “Play in Color”, a campaign dedicated to the importance of authentic inclusion in the gaming industry.

The Sims community has always been a great supporter of inclusivity and the players are free to make their own characters that represent their real-life counterparts.

Recently Sims has also released an update that focuses on skin condition and added those specific features in the game. This is a bold move by the developers but wildly effective too.

Some of the features that the game included are different skin features and in-game characters that have different backgrounds regional disparities and skin tones that are connected to their own story. This is also another great move by the developers to start this campaign with a great content creator to attract attention from communities all around the gaming industry.

Dark & Lovely x The Sims inclusions in this game are in-game features like skin tones and nail options and also 24 different combinations of hair and color. The best part about this update is that this is a free content drop update that will be released to the players in July of 2024.

Ebonix has made a great impact while talking to the developers of the game as she was very open about her background and how they can incorporate it into the game.

The developer said that this was not an easy task but eventually, they made it possible thanks to the community support and the support of content creators like Ebonix.

Eventually, even Ebonix felt like she was a part of her game and she can continue to support diversity and inclusion across the gaming industry. There’s a very high chance that the developers continue to include such diversity and inclusion features in the game especially in Sims because of how interesting different backgrounds are in the world.

Fans of the game are related and excited because they absolutely love how the developers care about other communities. This might be also reflected in the fact that the working team of the developers themselves consists of people from different backgrounds and upbringings. It is a lovely message that these developers are sending the gaming community as diversity and inclusion is one of the most debatable topics in the world as of now.
