Davey Allison is a former NASCAR driver and the son of a legendary racer, Bobby Allison. Davey had a short career in NASCAR and won numerous events. Davey Allison’s first vehicle was Pontiac in the 1983 Busch series for his father’s racing team. Allison drove Buick, Chevrolet, and Ford in the remaining seasons. In the NASCAR Cup Series, Allison drove a Chevrolet in his debut season. He drove a Chevrolet Nova and a Chevrolet Lumina. He also drove a Ford Thunderbird for Robert Yates Racing and Ranier-Lundy Racing. Allison secured the Daytona 500 championship in 1992 in his Ford Thunderbird.

Davey Allison’s primary vehicle was the Ford Thunderbird. He drove in his Ford in most of the races sponsored by Havoline. Davey competed in different models of Ford every season. Davey Allison’s ARCA series vehicle was the Miller American sponsored Pontiac LeMans. His Buick vehicles also had sponsors from both Miller American and Havoline. Davey Allison Car Accidents

Davey Allison suffered many car crashes during his days. In 1992, he was injured at the Food City event. Allison suffered another accident in the same year at Pocono during the Miller Genuine Draft 500 event. Davey’s car was hit by Darrell Waltrip and it flipped before it went airborne. Davey Allison experienced concussion. His bones were broken and wrist was damaged.
In 1987, Allison suffered a crash at Talladega. This was his first major accident before the 1992 incident. Though Davey Allison managed to survive car crashes on the field, he couldn’t survive the helicopter crash in 1993. Davey Allison was on his way with his friends to test a car in Talladega and he was driving his helicopter. When trying to land in the parking area, the helicopter crashed. Davey Allison lost his life after suffering head injury and reports revealed it was a wrong decision to land the helicopter in a confined place.
