David Nwaba Career
Nwaba pursued his high school studies at University High School. His basketball career started over there, he was awarded two-time All-Western League Most Valuable Player honoree and all-league first-team selection for his brilliant performance.
His college basketball career started with the Hawaii Pacific but was redshirted for the 2011-2012 season. Then he was transferred to Santa Monica College in 2012. Throughout the 2012-13 season, he was in great form and was named the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Year and the All-California Community College Athletic Association state first team. He averaged 20.5 points with 8.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. As a junior at Cal Poly, he averaged 11.4 points with 4.7 rebounds and 32 steals at 1.3 steals per game. During his senior season, David was awarded All-Big West Honorable Mention.
After completing his college degree at Cal Poly, Nwaba went to attend the tryouts of the Reno Bighorns for the NBA Development League. Then was traded to Los Angeles D-Fenders after his training sessions. On seeing his talent, the Los Angeles Lakers added David to their squad. David made his NBA debut against the Charlotte Hornets but unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side. The Lakers realised his talent and decided to sign a multi-year contract with Nwaba. After his brilliant performance for the Lakers, he was waived by them on July 2017.
During the 2018-2020 seasons, he played for Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets. After the COVID-19 Pandemic, David was traded to Motor City Cruise for the 2022 season. As of now, everything is going well for David at the Motor City Cruise.
