Group A
- Argentina – Team Argentina has a fine mixture of youth and experience at its disposal. The talented Diego Schwartzman will be the player to look out for. However, the likes of Francisco Cerundolo and Sebastian Baez will also be important to the chances of the team from South America.
- Italy – This team also contains a good bunch of young talents like Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini and the experience of Fabio Fognini holds them in good stead. They are certainly one of the favorites to progress from the group.
- Croatia – Team Croatia is the No. 1 seed in the competition. They will not have the services of their No. 1 player Marin Cilic. However, the rejuvenated Borna Coric, who recently won the Cincinnati Masters will be the player that could potentially make a difference. Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic will also have to play their roles during the competition.
- Sweden – The underdogs will be resting their hopes on the talented shoulders of the Ymer brothers – Mikael and Elias. They will have to show the way to their lesser-ranked teammates.

The Spaniards have all bases covered and even if the new World No. 1 does take his time, they will still be a tough nut to crack.
- Serbia – From Rafael Nadal’s country, we move to Novak Djokovic’s country. While the 21-time Grand Slam champion is not playing, the likes of Miomir Kecmanovic and Filip Krajinovic will be eager to make their country proud.
- South Korea – Kwon Soon-woo is the only South Korean player in the top 100. The experienced Song Min-Kyu will have to give him good support. 2015 Australian Open junior finalist Hong Seong-chan will also have to play out of his skin to give South Korea a chance in what is a very difficult group.

- Belgium – David Goffin will have to shoulder the responsibilities of Belgium with his teammates not providing the same depth as other teams in the group. They don’t seem to be the favorites to qualify for the knockouts, at least on paper. If Goffin can win the singles bout then the duo of Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen might give Belgium a surprise entry into the knockouts.
- Germany – The former World No. 2 Alexander Zverev returns to action and is certainly one of the best players in the tournament. The team of Tim Putz and Kevin Krawietz will be tough to beat. Team Germany is one of the strongest and most-balanced teams in the competition.
