Group A

Jannik Sinner (Twitter)
  • Argentina – Team Argentina has a fine mixture of youth and experience at its disposal. The talented Diego Schwartzman will be the player to look out for. However, the likes of Francisco Cerundolo and Sebastian Baez will also be important to the chances of the team from South America.
  • Italy – This team also contains a good bunch of young talents like Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini and the experience of Fabio Fognini holds them in good stead. They are certainly one of the favorites to progress from the group.
  • Croatia – Team Croatia is the No. 1 seed in the competition. They will not have the services of their No. 1 player Marin Cilic. However, the rejuvenated Borna Coric, who recently won the Cincinnati Masters will be the player that could potentially make a difference. Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic will also have to play their roles during the competition.
  • Sweden – The underdogs will be resting their hopes on the talented shoulders of the Ymer brothers – Mikael and Elias. They will have to show the way to their lesser-ranked teammates.

Group B

  • Spain – 18th-ranked Roberto Bautista Agut and 42nd-ranked Albert Ramos-Vinolas will hold the cards in the star-studded team. Carlos Alcaraz is also on the team but after his triumphant US Open campaign, he might choose to play later in the week. The Spaniards have all bases covered and even if the new World No. 1 does take his time, they will still be a tough nut to crack.
  • Serbia – From Rafael Nadal’s country, we move to Novak Djokovic’s country. While the 21-time Grand Slam champion is not playing, the likes of Miomir Kecmanovic and Filip Krajinovic will be eager to make their country proud.
  • South Korea – Kwon Soon-woo is the only South Korean player in the top 100. The experienced Song Min-Kyu will have to give him good support. 2015 Australian Open junior finalist Hong Seong-chan will also have to play out of his skin to give South Korea a chance in what is a very difficult group.
  • Canada – All eyes will be on the talented Felix Auger-Aliassime. Spain seems the favorite to top this group with Serbia and Canada slogging it out for the second spot. Felix Auger-Aliassime will have a big role to play in Canada’s quest to qualify for the knockouts.

Group C

  • Australia – Alex de Minaur and Thanasi Kokkinakis are two players to keep an eye on in this group of death. Jason Kubler has also been in good form as of late. They are captained by the inspirational Lleyton Hewitt.
  • France – Team France has a formidable squad at their disposal. The likes of Richard Gasquet, Benjamin Bonzi, and Adrian Mannarino could be the game-changers for the team from Europe.
  • Belgium – David Goffin will have to shoulder the responsibilities of Belgium with his teammates not providing the same depth as other teams in the group. They don’t seem to be the favorites to qualify for the knockouts, at least on paper. If Goffin can win the singles bout then the duo of Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen might give Belgium a surprise entry into the knockouts.
  • Germany – The former World No. 2 Alexander Zverev returns to action and is certainly one of the best players in the tournament. The team of Tim Putz and Kevin Krawietz will be tough to beat. Team Germany is one of the strongest and most-balanced teams in the competition.

  • Netherlands – The likes of Botic can de Zandschulp, Tallon Griekspoor and Tim van Rijthoven will hold the key for Netherlands. They have a lot of depth in their squad and it will hold them in good stead at the tournament.
  • Kazakhstan – Alexander Bublik will be the crucial player for the Kazakhstan team. However, the likes of Mikhail Kukushkin, Dmitry Popko, and Aleksandr Nedovyesov will have to chip in with their contributions as well.
  • Great Britain – They have selected a formidable group of players who could take all the way in the tournament. Cameron Norrie will be the player to watch out for. However, the attention will invariably be on the legendary Andy Murray.
  • USA – World No. 12 Taylor Fritz is a vital cog in the wheel for the USA team. Tommy Paul could also be a handful on his day.
