Deandre Ayton made a stunning debut against Dallas Mavericks on the 17th of October in 2018. He earned a double-double, scoring 18 points, alongside 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
Ayton consistently performed well throughout the season, and was therefore selected to the NBA 2019 All-Rookie First team.
In the 2019-20 season, he received a hammer-blow, as he was suspended for 25 games after testing positive for a diuretic. The very first match Ayton returned from suspension, he dropped 18 points, alongside 12 rebounds.
