Here is our guide on how to find all of the Death Stranding Memory Chip Locations. We have divided the list by region.
Memory chips are the primary collectible in Death Stranding. There are a total of 56 memory chips to collect. To upload and access your data, you can contribute memory chips to delivery stations all across the game world. You will receive the trophy or accomplishment “A Thirst for Knowledge” if you restore your first memory chip, and the trophy or achievement “Fount of Knowledge” if you restore all 56 memory chips. Most memory chips can be found while exploring the world, but some require special conditions to spawn, and others are simply difficult to locate.
Death Stranding Memory Chips
Memory chips are little, shimmering items that can be identified by their particular shine. In-world and on the map, a glowing blue memory chip indicator will also indicate their whereabouts. Memory chips will only appear as an icon on the map if they have been marked by other players. If you come across one that isn’t marked on the map, please do your fellow porters a favour and mark it.

Scroll down to the lists below this table for a breakdown of memory chips by general region, and utilise the table below for a more detailed look at location and needs. You don’t have to be concerned if you miss a memory chip before going on to the next location. None of the memory chips become unavailable or impossible to collect at any time, so you’ll get an opportunity to collect them all eventually. Here is a list of all the memory chip locations in Death Stranding.
All Eastern Region Memory Chip Locations
There are nine Memory Chips in the Eastern Region, which is mostly explored in the prologue and first two episodes of the game. Because this map is just about a fifth of the size of the Central Region’s, we can easily see specific pinned Memory Chip positions.

All Central Region (East) Memory Chip Locations
Since the Death Stranding Central Region’s enormous size and scope, it’s preferable to divide its Memory Chip Locations list in two. Every Memory Chip on the eastern side of the Central Region, the side with Lake Knot City, is found in this section. There are a total of 28 Memory Chips in this location.

| Max Factory Ludens figma | Near the Tar Lake east of South Knot City. |
| Christine | From Lake Knot City, travel to Distribution Center South. Search the nearby rocks just northeast from there. |
| Stand by Me | At the Incinerator located to the west of Lake Knot City. Must read “I Saw Another One of Those Glowing Things…” email for it to spawn. |
| Fright Night | At the onset of a rocky outcropping just south of the massive crater visible on the map. |
| Matango | East of the Distribution Center that is situated to the south of Lake Knot City. |
| The Bridge on the River Kwai | Find the broken bridge west of Mama’s Lab. Search the bridge’s eastern half. |
| Eggshell Carving | Inside a tent at the MULE Camp to Lake Knot City’s direct south. |
| Glasscraft | Roughly midway or so between the Craftsman and Engineer shelters. |
| Coffee Cup | North and slightly east of Timefall Farm, you’ll find another MULE Camp. This Memory Chip is on top of a red-tinted carpet at that location. |
| Soap Bubble | Atop the roof of Timefall Farm. |
| Pottery | Find the sizable tower to the south of Mama’s Lab. |
| Reverse Trike: “Ride” Type | Search just outside a cave close to the massive waterfall. |
| Honda NSR250R | At the MULE Camp between Lake Knot City and the Distribution Center to its south. |
| Honda Rebel 500 | Inside the warehouse in the MULE Camp outskirts north of Timefall Farm. |
| Triumph Bonneville Bobber | Inside a tent at the MULE Camp south of Lake Knot City’s southern Distribution Center. |
| Triumph Street Triple RS | Behind the Junk Dealer’s shelter dwelling. |
| Yamaha MT-09 | Inside a tent at the MULE Camp northwest of Lake Knot City’s southern Distribution Center. |
| Thelma Original Motion Picture Soundtrack | Starting at the Waystation to the north of Mountain Knot City, traverse the field roughly halfway to the Craftsman’s shelter and search the nearby shipping containers to find this. |
| Low Roar/Low Roar | To the north of the Abandoned Warehouse. |
| 0/Low Roar | On the southern end of Lake Knot City, on top of a shipping container. |
| Once In A Long, Long While…/Low Roar | There’s a canyon eastward of the Distribution Center that is positioned to the south of Lake Knot City. Search there and you’ll soon espy this one. |

| An Unknown Man’s Journal: Part 1 | In a devastated structure near the Ruined Shelter. |

| An Unknown Man’s Journal: Part 3 | Inside Peter Englert’s Shelter. Must read the email sent to Sam from Higgs in Episode 9 in order for this to spawn. |
All Central Region (West) Memory Chip Locations
An additional 16 Memory Chips await Sam’s patronage on the western edge of the Central Region, where Mountain Knot City is located.

| Dr. Strangelove | South of the lake near Heartman’s Lab. It’s hard to miss — the lake itself is, in fact, shaped like a heart. |
| Dandelion Seeds | Right where you meet Deadman, southwest of the First Prepper Shelter. |
| Wine Glass | Inside a cave west of Mountaineer Shelter. |
| Fused Silica | Southwest of the Paleontologist Shelter, beneath the water. Must read the email “Much Respect to Porters Everywhere!” email for it to spawn, which requires leveling the Paleontologist Shelter to five stars. |
| Yamaha RD500LC | At the MULE Camp west of the Waystation that’s positioned to the north of Mountain Knot City. Specifically, on top of a sleeping bag. |
| Kawasaki Z1 (900 Super Four) | Inside a tent at the MULE Camp in the swamplands north of Mountain Knot City. |

| Nicolas Winding Refn The Wicked Die Young | Southeast of Mountain Knot City, you’ll find a huge structure almost entirely submerged in snow. Search the upper stories. |
| Frozen Soap Bubble | On the cliff overseeing Heartman’s Lab. |
| Snow Crystal | At the southeast edge of Mountain Knot City, upon a steel walkway. |
All Western Region Memory Chip Locations
Sam travels across a short passage of the Western Region, making the Eastern Region appear humongous in comparison. Only three Memory Chips are available here.
