Check out our Deep Rock Galactic Tier List where you can find out the best class in the game for your particular playstyle.
Deep Rock Galactic is one of the best class-based FPS games out there. Each of the four classes has its own set of unique weapons, abilities, and playstyles. Don’t be put off by the game’s limited class selection; each is powerful and distinct in its own way.
Deep Rock Galactic is a game about a group of hardened dwarven miners in space who must contend with perilous conditions and even more perilous animals. As a result, the game is best enjoyed with a group of friends – or other players, at the very least – who can mix and match the different classes to complete quests.
The Engineer is particularly good at protecting several locations against attackers. Because of this ability, he is undoubtedly the best class for solo players, but his uses don’t end there. Engineer is a mid-range character that excels in defending objectives. He excels at salvage operations and as an escort. His turrets provide him with the extra firepower he requires to penetrate into caves alone, making him ideal for solo mission runners.
The Engineer comes with a Sentry Turret that you can build and lay down. When you’re defending the land against a swarm, this turret will stay in place, but it can take out a lot of attackers if you keep it reloaded and make absolutely sure it doesn’t run out of ammunition.
The Engineer also has a platform gun, which is useful for both cooperations and navigating while going alone. This cannon can generate little platforms, which you’ll appreciate when going solo, whether it’s to escape a pit or to get some high-up minerals.
You’ve landed at the perfect class if you enjoy heavy guns and supporting your allies. Due to his gear, which is intended to be used by his entire crew, the Gunner is the best support class in the game. When his team is swarmed, the Gunner excels at supplying persistent fire against boss enemies. When doing Elimination missions, this class is a must-have. In addition, his abilities are ideal for bolstering his team. He’s adaptable in almost any situation and contributes significantly to the team’s overall dynamic.
A Zipline Launcher and a Shield Generator are available to the Gunner. The ziplines make traveling much easier and allow you to establish back-and-forth trails. During a swarm, the shield comes in handy, especially when you’re waiting for the minigun to cool down.
The Gunner’s grenade arsenal is fairly typical, beginning with some sticky grenades capable of doing extensive damage. You can unlock more later, but they all operate well enough that you know exactly what you’re getting – throw it, and it explodes.
Due to his excellent mobility, the Scout is actively sought after by players. I wouldn’t call the Scout my favorite class, but it’s a close second and one that I enjoy playing in solo games. Scouts are an adaptable class that can take on almost any objective in any situation. You can play this class long-range, close-range, with high DPS, rapid-fire, and so on, depending on how you alter your loadout. He’s his group’s pathfinder, and he excels in scouting for ores and threats ahead. He has the ability to illuminate dark locations and is most effective when supporting his crew from afar.
The Flare Gun is useful for lighting up the landscape, especially when a solo player is too preoccupied to constantly hurl smaller flares. These flares will attach to surfaces and light up entire tunnels, making them ideal for when a swarm is approaching and you need to see everything.
While the other classes have choices for moving around, none are quite as handy as the grappling hook. Simply aim, shoot, and fly away – just don’t toss yourself too high up, or you’ll suffer fall damage.
In comparison to the other classes, this heavy-duty dwarf appears to be unpopular in the community. It’s not because he’s bad; many players simply don’t enjoy playing his kit. Drillers should always be at the lead of their team and are excellent at taking out large clusters of enemies. He may specialize in crowd control thanks to his weaponry, therefore he should constantly be facing swarms head-on for his team. He should also be the one to plow through any obstructed tunnels. His drills easily clear trails and build shortcuts to the drop pod whenever it’s called, making him ideal for traveling through places or escaping quickly.
The Drillers’ dual-wielding drills can rip through terrain at breakneck speed, but they also overheat quickly. This is the driller’s only means of traversal, although it suffices in the caves; just make sure you have a way out before diving into any bottomless holes.
The Driller also includes various explosive charges in addition to the drills. You can destroy them with a trigger once they’ve been set, which is useful if you need to retreat or refill the flamethrower while the swarm is still swarming. They can also damage terrain, but it’s recommended to use the drills for it.
This was our Deep Rock Galactic Class Tier List. While each class has a different kit and weaponry, the key thing that players should consider is if they enjoy playing a particular class and playstyle.
