The American star Marcos Giron takes on Croatian qualifier Matija Pecotic in the round of 16 of the 2023 Delray Beach Open on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old came into the tournament on the back of a run to the quarterfinals of the Dallas Open. Giron defeated Alex Rybakov and Oscar Otte before losing to top seed Taylor Fritz.

The Croatian athlete is a part-time player and he works as a full-time employee in a finance company. He played his first ATP Tour-level match in the Delray Beach Open against former world No. 8 Jack Sock in the round of 32.
The world No. 784 defeated Stefan Kozlov (retired), and Tennys Sangren to make it to the main draw. In the round of 32, Sock won the first set but Pecotic, made a phenomenal comeback to win the match 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. The world No. 784 smashed 10 aces in the match.
