Wolves were held to a disappointing goalless draw at home by Brighton and Hove Albion in their previous outing in the Premier League and Nuno Espirito Santo’s men will be up against it once again when they play host to Arsenal on Wednesday night.
Wolves currently sit 10th in the standings with 48 points, level with Leicester City and just one adrift of Everton and Watford. Nuno Santo’s side played out a 1-1 draw at the Emirates earlier in the season and they would need to be at the top of their game to get something out of this.
Arsenal suffered a bizarre 3-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday and the Gunners will be looking to reignite their top-four hopes with a victory in the mid-week clash.
Wolves have no major injury concerns ahead of the game against Arsenal. Nuno Santo has been consistent with his team selection throughout the season and the manager will be expected to make one or two alterations to the eleven that played against Brighton.
The Portuguese international didn’t have a save to make in the last game against Brighton but he has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.
The Englishman didn’t have too much defensive work to do on his return to the eleven in the last game and has always been a trusted lieutenant for Nuno Santo whenever he has been fit.
The former Liverpool man had an easy outing last time around but he will need to be at the top of his game on Wednesday to cope with Arsenal’s attacking threat.
He was hardly tested defensively against Brighton and the fans at Molineux would be hoping for one of his powerful headers to find its mark on Wednesday.
The Irishman has been a hugely influential figure for Wolves down the right flank and he would need to rise to the occasion against Arsenal.
Jonny has been a regular down the left but Nuno Santo might just use the young and energetic Portuguese wing-back to cope with the threat of Maitland-Niles.
His range of passing and distribution have been superb for most part of the season and Wolves will need him to be at the top of his game against Arsenal.
The Portuguese veteran has proven himself to be one of the biggest bargains of the Premier League this season and his experience could prove to be a deciding factor.
Morgan Gibbs-White had a good game against Brighton but the Belgian might get a start for this one.
The Mexican wasn’t at his best last week and Wolves will need him to fire on all cylinders if they are to have any chances of upsetting the odds.
