Predicted Arsenal XI to face Bournemouth in the Premier League
Arsenal will welcome Bournemouth at the Emirates on Wednesday after taking six points in the last two Premier League games.
The Gunners moved back into the top four of the Premier League with their 2-0 win over Southampton last weekend. Unai Emery will hope his boys continue to pick up maximum points in every game as a place in the top-four has started heating up.
Their opponents, Bournemouth, have displayed very poor away form this season and come into this game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Wolves.
Team News
Alex Iwobi suffered a knock to his right ankle and was replaced with 15 minutes remaining on Sunday but he is likely to be fit to face Bournemouth.
But Stephan Lichtsteiner is doubtful after suffering a minor back problem against Southampton.
Probable Arsenal XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Unai Emery
Bernd Leno (GK)
Leno was in fine form at the weekend and kept a clean sheet. He should continue in goal on Wednesday.
Ainsley Maitland Niles (RB)
The youngster missed the last few games due to illness but is expected to return to the starting XI at the expense of Lichtsteiner.
Shkodran Mustafi (CB)
Mustafi put in a strong performance against Southampton and will likely start the game on Wednesday.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos (CB)
Partnering Mustafi at the heart of the Arsenal defence will be Sokratis, who has been the team’s best defender this season. The Greek would relish a physical battle with Josh King.
Sead Kolasinac (LB)
Kolasinac is an attacking left-back who will be a threat for Bournemouth on Wednesday.
Lucas Torreira (CM)
Torreira brings balance and stability to Arsenal. He is likely to keep his place in the team.
Matteo Guendouzi (CM)
Guendouzi sat out the game against Southampton on Sunday but is expected to return to the starting XI ahead of Granit Xhaka, who should be rested, with the North London derby at the weekend.
Denis Suarez (RW)
The game against the Cherries could be ideal for Suarez to start. The on-loan Barcelona attacker needs to find form quickly to help reach their targets this season.
Mesut Ozil (CAM)
Ozil is back in contention under Unai Emery and came off the bench in the win against Southampton on Sunday. He should start in the no.10 role and look to guide the Gunners to all three points.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan (LW)
Mkhitaryan is in good form of late and should retain his place in the team for the midweek fixture.
Alexandre Lacazette (ST)
When he’s on song, Lacazette is very difficult to stop. The Frenchman will lead Arsenal’s attack against Howe’s Bournemouth.
