After working as a janitor for a few months, Rodman started playing basketball for North Central Texas College. After playing for one semester, he transferred to Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
In 1986, he was drafted by the Detroit Pistons where he joined the squad known as the ‘Bad Boys.’ The ‘Bad Boys’ were famous for their physical plays and were a menace to their opponents.
In 1989, Rodman along with Isiah Thomas won his first NBA title. Pistons swept the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the 1989 NBA Finals.
In 1990, Rodman won his second NBA title by defeating the Portland Trail Blazers in five games. By then, he had won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award.
