According to claims from Polish source Polstat Sport, as cited by Derbyshire Live, Derby County have been linked with a move for winger Kamil Jozwiak, who currently plies his trade with Polish heavyweights Lech Poznan.
Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers have also been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old starlet, who is valued at around €3million by Lech Poznan. (Polstat Sport h/t Derbyshire Live)
The report adds that the Rams are keen to add some fresh faces to their squad before the January deadline and have set their sights on Jozwiak, who made his senior international debut for Poland as a late substitute in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovenia back in November.
Jozwiak started his footballing education at lower division outfit Zielona Gora in his homeland before joining giants Lech Poznan at the youth level back in 2011 at the tender age of 13. He eventually made his senior debut in February 2016, coming on as a half-time substitute in a 2-0 league defeat to Jagiellonia Bialystok.
Having spent the second half of the 2016-17 campaign on loan at GKS Katowice in the third-tier, Jozwiak established himself as a regular fixture at his boyhood club in the following season.
The one-cap Poland international has clocked up a total of 101 senior competitive appearances for Lech Poznan in all competitions so far, scoring 12 times and supplying 12 assists for his teammates.
The departure of loanees Jamie Paterson and Kieran Dowell has left the Rams somewhat short of quality cover in the final third. Plus, with the likes of Mason Bennett and Florian Jozefzoon struggling to make a positive impact in the Championship this season, the Rams have struggled for quality and firepower in the wide areas of the pitch.
Cocu has tried his level best to shoehorn the likes of Duane Holmes, Martyn Waghorn and Jason Knight into wide attacking roles in his preferred 4-2-3-1 system but Derby need some out-and-out wingers.
Jozwiak is still in his formative years as a professional but his rather modest-looking price tag makes him an affordable option for the Rams in January.
Having said that, Derby completing a deal for Kamil Jozwiak in January would hand a boost to their long-term plans moving forward under Phillip Cocu.
