Lewis also had a promising football career in college and was on a full scholarship. However, he violated his probation for aggravated assault from his high school days and spent three and a half years in prison.

He was introduced to MMA by a friend soon after his release and he started training while he also worked as a two-truck driver.

The MMA world worked out well for him and the Black Beast is one of the toughest stars in the UFC.

His first fight in the UFC got him $14,000 thanks to a win. Defeating Francis Ngannou also earned him a massive $260,000 thanks to the win.

Lewis also racked up $320,000 in his win over Alexander Volkov while he made $315,000 in the win over Aleksei Oleinik in his last UFC fight before facing Curtis Blaydes.

His biggest payday was against Ciryl Gane in August 2021. Despite a loss, Lewis took home $732,000 that night.

His UFC debut took place in 2014 and he defeated Jack May. He then went 2-2 in the UFC before embarking on an incredible six-fight win streak again before losing to Mark Hunt.

The Black Beast had wins over Francis Ngannou and Alexander Volkov to get a title shot but lost it to Daniel Cormier.
