According to a recent report by a local publication based in Brighton called The Argus, Brighton and Hove Albion star Davy Propper is being linked with possible summer move to Dutch champions Ajax. The 27-year-old had a fairly average Premier League campaign last time around as he was only able to make a minimal impact.
Brighton are one of the clubs that struggled to earn points right from the opening day and despite the presence of the seemingly free-scoring Glenn Murray, the pace at which they were progressing was certainly worth quite a bit of concern indeed. They didn’t look like the kind of side with the mettle to deal with the never-ending responsibilities that come with being a Premier League outfit.
Having managed to finish the season just outside of the relegation zone, the Seagulls managed to pick up just 9 wins all campaign and despite 18th place Cardiff City having one win more than the men for the south coast, a larger number of draws meant that they were safe in Premier League for yet another season.
While the 60 goals they shipped along the way could’ve certainly be limited, the alarming issue at hand for Brighton has to be their apparent inability to score goals. Despite having some talented and creative individuals in the side, they haven’t really been able to carve teams open like some of the Premier League’s stronger clubs.
Taking things up a notch will make Brighton a force to be reckoned with. The need of the hour is certainly going to be the purchase of a top quality striker who can get goals for the Seagulls on a fairly consistent basis. Glenn Murray’s age is always going to cause him issues and it wouldn’t be smart on their side to depend on the ageing Englishman for goals.
Davy Propper is one of the most talented players in the Brighton ranks and the technical ability he brings to the plate is second to none at the Amex Stadium. Having joined the Premier League club from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2017, the midfielder had developed into an excellent passer of the ball who is also capable of the odd spectacular goal from distance.

His contributions towards Brighton’s cause this season were minimal but he did work fairly hard to try and keep his side up. Having notched up just a goal and an assist from 30 league games in the term, Propper will be looking to improve on these numbers next season and considering that Brighton are sure to have bigger ambitions, keeping him must become a priority.
