Predicted Watford XI to face Huddersfield Town in the Premier League
Watford put an end to their losing streak and bagged all three points with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend.
The Hornets lost momentum with a winless streak of four games after winning four games on a trot earlier in the season.
And Javi Gracia’s men will be looking to build on the positives when they play host to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
While the Hornets sit 7th in the standings, David Wagner’s men find themselves at the wrong end of the table, lying in the relegation zone without a single win so far this season.
Team news
Watford will be without the services of Daryl Janmaat who is expected to be out of action for another couple of weeks. Troy Deeney missed the last game due to a hamstring injury but is likely to be in contention for a starting place on Saturday.
Nathaniel Chalobah continues his recovery from a knee injury and is unlikely to feature on Saturday. Christian Kabasele and Jose Holebas missed the last game due to suspension but will be back in contention for Saturday’s tie.
Formation: 4-2-2-2
Manager: Javi Gracia
Predicted XI
Ben Foster (GK)
The veteran made a couple of good reflex saves against Wolves and should retain his place in the starting eleven.
Kiko Femenia (RB)
Shook off his rustiness in the last game and looked very solid defensively. He contributed in the other half as well and the manager should hand him another start.
Craig Cathcart (CB)
Stood strong at the back with his burly frame and won a lot of headers in the previous game.
Christian Kabasele (CB)
The Belgian missed the game against Wolves due to a suspension but should return to the starting XI this weekend.
Jose Holebas (LB)
Watford’s assist king missed the last game due to a suspension but he might get the nod of the manager to start ahead of Adam Masina.
Etienne Capoue (LCM)
He won back possession in midfield and started the attacking moves against Wolves and will play a key role against Huddersfield.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (RCM)
His physicality and defensive awareness will be key to Watford’s chances on Saturday.
Will Hughes (RAM)
He has struggled to get into the game at times this season but has made a significant impact with his passing and link-up play in the final third.
Roberto Pereyra (LAM)
The Argentine scored in the last game against Wolves and influenced the game with his creativity. Javi Gracia must rely on him to deliver the goods at the weekend.
Troy Deeney (ST)
Isaac Success had a good game last weekend but could drop to the bench to accommodate Deeney in the eleven.
