Originally from Lancaster, California, and attended Antelope Valley College where his basketball career ignited after which he attended Southern University. Dedmon went undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft but was signed by the Golden State Warriors shortly thereafter. He played in only one game for the Warriors before being waived and picked up by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played in 25 games for the 76ers, averaging 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
