How to Unlock Nightmare Dungeon
To gain access to Nightmare Dungeons in Diablo 4, you must first reach World Tier 3: Nightmare, the third difficulty level in the game. To achieve this, switch to World Tier 2: Veteran if you were not already playing on it. Then successfully complete the Level 50 Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon located in Kyovashad.
This dungeon poses a considerable challenge with multiple bosses. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that your character is at Level 50 and equipped with your best gear. It is worth noting that many enemies within the dungeon deal Lightning damage, so having some form of Lightning Resistance will greatly aid your progress.
Once you have completed the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon, advance to World Tier 3: Nightmare. Then focus on completing the Whispers of the Dead objectives. These objectives are easily recognizable on the map by their distinct red and pink icons, and they are associated with the Tree of Whispers located in The Writhing Mire, Hawezar. Each completion of a Whispers of the Dead objective rewards you with Grim Favors. Get a total of 10 Grim Favors, and you will be able to trade them to the Tree of Whispers in exchange for loot caches.
Present the Tree of Whispers with your collection of Grim Favors and open the loot caches until you obtain a Nightmare Sigil consumable. This consumable item is essential for unlocking your first Nightmare Dungeon. Once you use the Nightmare Sigil, the location of the Nightmare Dungeon will be marked on your map, allowing you to access this challenging content.
