John Cena might have fought his last WWE match after his loss to Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36
WWE creative hit the ball out of the park with their John Cena vs Bray Wyatt Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36.
The match was formed all of a sudden as The Fiend challenged Cena on SmackDown a few weeks back.
Cena seemed set to announce he was retiring from WWE, but that all changed with the Fiend’s appearance. Bray Wyatt then convinced Cena into accepted a Firefly Fun House match, and we saw something incredible.
The WrestleMania 36 clash wasn’t the typical in-ring match that we normally see. I am very sceptical about matches that are edited and being told like movies, but credit has to be given to the creative team for pulling this off.

Wyatt tormented Cena throughout the match as we saw different versions of the Leader of the Cenation throughout the WWE years.
That wasn’t enough for Cena though as he ended up losing the match to The Fiend, but there were several hints this could have been his final WWE match.
WWE sends us down memory lane
There were several segments of this clash that put us into the shoes of not only Cena but also what WWE thought during his early years.
We had a Vince McMahon type of character asking Cena to be ruthless, something he became during his early days.
We saw a young John Cena, there was even a clipping where Wyatt turned into Kurt Angle to face the former champ.

Cena the heel was also portrayed well as he made rapping and taking out people his signature. The Doctor of Thuganomics was his next avatar but things didn’t always work for him.

Cena seemed torn with all these segments and he is one of the most divisive characters in WWE today. The fans have been split about him for years, and this could have been the perfect send-off for WWE and Cena.
Not the first time WWE have pulled something like this
Returning a few years back, Lita, one of the greatest female WWE stars, was also given a send-off after a losing cause.
She was humiliated though, in her final outing, however, she did return a few years later for a cameo of sorts.
Cena, for his part, wasn’t humiliated to that extend, but it was anguishing to see him go through all the various avatars he had in the past.
Not to mention, he has barely been seen on TV before returning to SmackDown a few weeks back.
Cena wasn’t involved in any major championship runs over the past year either. WWE has a lot of creative stars who can do the job at the top.
The former WWE champion has a big acting career to concentrate on. He could turn out to be like the Rock, making fleeting appearances in WWE.

The Fiend has been able to strip his rivals all throughout his short reign in WWE. Cena might have been the subject of this clash, but it felt like the end of an era.
