Chan Sung Jung, The Korean Zombie, lost at UFC 273 but did he retire after the fight?

Chang Sung Jung, The Korean Zombie, got another title opportunity at UFC 273 but failed to get over the line.

The 35-year-old had fought for the UFC Featherweight title in 2013 against Jose Aldo, and lost. This time, he was against Alexander Volkanovski and was taken apart by the champion. Herb Dean had to call an end to the fight in the fourth round and a downbeat Zombie was speaking to Joe Rogan after the decision.

Rogan asked Zombie what his future was, and via a translator, the Korean suggested that he might take some time off to decide if he was going to retire or not.

Sung Jung claimed that every loss leads him to think about his future, and he would be doing so again after this one. This was the seventh MMA loss of The Zombie’s career, and it would not be a surprise if he did call his time in the Octagon.

The Korean Zombie remains one of the most entertaining fighters ever

The 35-year-old might have fallen short in his title quests but he remains as popular as ever.

His nickname was handed over to him thanks to his ability to keep taking punches and walk forwards like a zombie.

Zombie does have some great wins under his belt in his UFC career. He has defeated Dustin Poirier, Frankie Edgar and Dan Ige.

This loss was a huge blow, especially the way it came. Volkanovski showed there was a gulf in class between himself and The Zombie.

It will be interesting to see if TKZ does retire after this fight. If he does, he will have left a legacy behind that few can match.
