Diego Sebastián Schwartzman a.k.a Diego Schwartzman had a good junior career. In 2010, at the age of 17, Diego turned pro. From 2010 to 2013, Diego won many Futures tournament in Bolivia, Chile, Peru, and Argentina. In 2013, Diego also won the Buenos Aires Challenger (CL).

In 2014, Diego participated in the ATP Challenger Tour. Notably, he went on to win four titles—at Aix-en-Provence, Prague, Campinas, and San Juan. Due to his Challenger Tour success, Diego at the end of the season was then ranked No. 61 in the world.

In 2016, Diego won his first-ever singles title at the Istanbul Open—an outdoor 250 clay court event. He famously defeated Grigor Dimitrov in the Istanbul Open final. Needless to say, the Istanbul Open title was Diego’s first ATP title.

The year 2017 was a good season for Diego. He finished 2017 ranked world No. 25, in addition to making his first major quarterfinal, that is, the U.S. Open. He also made two quarterfinals at the Masters 1000 level. Further, he won 39 singles matches and earned $1,536,000 over the course of the season, easily beating his previous records of 17 match wins and $441,000 in the 2016 season.

In 2018, Diego perhaps had his biggest ATP title win in his career. He went on to win the title at the Rio Open, a ATP 500-level clay tournament, defeating Fernando Verdasco in the final. Also, in 2018, Diego reached the 2018 French Open doubles semi-final.

In 2019, Diego won his third ATP title. He captured the title at the 2019 Los Cabos Open, defeating Taylor Fritz in the final. The Los Cabos Open win marked his first-ever title at a hard-court tournament and third ATP title.

In 2020, Diego entered his first Masters final. He played the Italian Open final, his first ATP Masters 1000 final. The Italian Open final was set against Novak Djokovic which Diego ultimately lost. Notably, in 2018, Diego was then ranked No. 8 in the world, his first time ranking in the top 10 singles players.

In 2021, Diego won his fourth ATP title. In his hometown tournament, the Argentina Open, Schwartzman won his first tournament since 2019. The Argentina Open win was also his fourth ATP title. Notably, he did not drop a set in the entire tournament. In 2021, Diego also reached the quarterfinals of the 2021 French Open. However, he lost against Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals.  

Entering 2022, Diego has already played two golden swing finals. The two Golden Swing finals he played were in the 2022 Argentina Open and subsequently in the 2022 Rio Open. Unfortunately, he lost both the finals.
