Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo a.k.a Dikembe Mutombo was the 1991, Round 1, 4th overall draft pick by the Denver Nuggets. As a rookie, playing for the Nuggets, Mutombo was selected for the All-Star team and averaged 16.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and nearly three blocks per game.
Mutombo is commonly regarded as one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players of all time. Further, Mutombo has won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times (1995, 1997, 1998, 2001).
An eight-time NBA All-Star, Mutombo retired after the 2009 NBA playoffs. He retired as a Houston Rockets player.
Subsequently, on September 11, 2015, Mutombo was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Mutombo is married to Rose Mutombo since 1996. He met his wife, Rose, during a visit to Kinshasa in 1995. They live in Atlanta and have three children together. They also adopted four children from Rose’s deceased brothers.
