Predicted Watford XI to face Cardiff City in the Premier League

Watford were held to a 2-2 draw away from home by Everton in their previous game and the Hornets will be looking to get their campaign back on track when they play host to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Javi Gracia’s men have lost momentum after a bright start to the season and the Hornets currently sit 12th in the standings with 21 points from 16 games, just behind West Ham on goal difference.

Cardiff City have resurrected their campaign with some impressive results in recent weeks and the Bluebirds will be high on confidence after beating Southampton 1-0 last week.

Team News

Watford will be without the services of Etienne Capoue as the Frenchman continues to serve his red card suspension while Will Hughes is yet to recover from his groin injury and will be assessed ahead of the game on Saturday.

Andre Gray and Tom Cleverly (calf) are doubtful to feature this weekend while Daryl Janmaat will be pushing for a return.

Formation: 4-2-2-2

Manager: Javi Gracia

Predicted XI

1. Ben Foster (GK)

The veteran has always been a reliable presence between the sticks and he will be high on confidence after saving a penalty in the last game.

2. Kiko Femenia (RB)

The Spaniard put in a good performance against Everton in the last game and should start this one as well.

3. Craig Cathcart (CB)

He made some wonderful last-ditch challenges in the last game and Gracia should continue to rely on him.

4. Christian Kabasele (CB)

The Belgian stamped his authority in the air against Everton and he will have his work cut out against Callum Paterson on Saturday.

The veteran put in an excellent shift against Everton, keeping things tight at the back with some good recovery runs and urging the team forward.

6. Abdoulaye Doucoure (CDM)

He has been a key figure in the midfield for the Hornets this season and he will be high on confidence after scoring his first goal of the season.

7. Domingos Quina (CDM)

The youngster took everyone by surprise with a calm and composed display against Everton and Gracia should hand him another start this week.

8. Ken Sema (RM)

He was largely anonymous against Everton but he might get another chance if Will Hughes doesn’t make it.

9. Roberton Pereyra (LM)

The Argentine international has been one of the standout performers of the season for Watford up front and they will bank on him once again.

10. Gerard Deulofeu (ST)

He didn’t start the last game but Gracia should field him in the line-up ahead of Success for this one.

11. Troy Deeney (ST)

He impressed with his link-up play against Everton but squandered a few good chances and Watford will need him to be more clinical with his finishing.
