Predicted Everton XI to face Spurs in the Premier League
Everton continued their fine run of form in the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley at home last week but the Toffees will have a tough battle on their hands when they make the trip to north London to lock horns with Spurs.
Marco Silva’s side have won 5 out of their last 7 games in the Premier League, including impressive triumphs over Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea, and the fans have every reason to expect a thrilling end-to-end contest on Saturday, as both the teams look to sign off on a positive note.
Spurs were reduced to nine men against Bournemouth and lost 1-0 away from home against the Cherries, which means that they will need to get at least a draw from this game to guarantee a top-four finish.
Team News
Richarlison’s night against Burnley ended early with a rib injury and he is doubtful to feature in the final game of the season, while Yerry Mina is back to training from his thigh injury and will be pushing for a return.
Andre Gomes, who picked up a three-game suspension due to charges of violent conduct against Fulham, has served his punishment and is expected to be available for the final game of the season.
Manager: Marco Silva
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted XI
1. Jordan Pickford (GK)
The England international has had a season full of highs and lows between the sticks but he will be looking to sign off on a good note this weekend.
2. Seamus Coleman (RB)
The Irishman has hit top gear in the dying stages of the season and got his name on the score sheet last week with a well-taken goal.
3. Kurt Zouma (CB)
The Chelsea loanee was brilliant against Burnley last week and Everton will miss his pace, strength and commanding presence at the back next season if they don’t sign him permanently.
4. Michael Keane (CB)
The Englishman has been an impermeable rock at the back for the Toffees this season and he will once again play a key role on Sunday.
5. Lucas Digne (LB)
The Frenchman has been an influential figure at Goodison Park throughout the campaign and he will be expected to retain his spot.
6. Idrissa Gana Gueye (CDM)
The Senegalese international has been one of the key cogs in Silva’s midfield and he will have his work cut out against Spurs.
7. Andre Gomes (CDM)
Morgan Schneiderlin has done a terrific job in the last few games in Gomes’s absence but the Portuguese international has been the first-choice for Silva.
8. Theo Walcott (RW)
The former Arsenal man has blown hot and cold throughout the season but he will be looking to sign off on a positive note.
9. Bernard (LW)
The Brazilian has been a treat to watch with his exceptional close control and trickery down the flanks but Everton need better end product from him.
10. Gylfi Sigurdsson (CAM)
He has been a key source of goals and assists for the Toffees this term and they will rely on his playmaking abilities once again this Sunday.
