Donald Cerrone made his MMA debut on the 11th of February, 2006 at Ring of Fire 21: Full Blast. He took on Nate Mohr and started off with a submission victory.

He then won 6 fights in a row, before a no-contest against Kenneth Alexander. Following two back-to-back wins over Danny Castillo and Rob McCullough at WEC, Cerrone suffered his first loss – a narrow technical split decision against Jamie Varner.

At a record of 13-3 wins, Cerrone moved to the UFC. He made his UFC debut on the 5th of February, 2011 at UFC 126. He took on Paul Kelly and started off with a submission win.

A three-fight winning streak followed. On the 30th of December, 2011, Nate Diaz became the first man to beat Cerrone in the UFC.

Cerrone bounced back with two wins, before being knocked out for the first time in his career – a KO loss against Anthony Pettis.

Following a loss against Rafael dos Anjos in August 2013, Cerrone went on an impressive 8-fight winning streak before losing to RDA himself in a lightweight title fight.
