In this guide, we will tell you all about the Doom 64 Secret Levels and how to find them all. It is a bit confusing so read carefully.
There is much more to this overlooked classic than just playing more Doom 64. It contains items that will assist players in their quest: the Demon Keys. After collecting all three Demon Keys, the player will receive an upgraded Unmaker weapon that will easily defeat any BFG 9000. Additionally, even on the hardest difficulty, it will make defeating the final fight a breeze. If you are here for the Doom 64 Secret Levels then your wait is over because we will tell you how to find all Secret Levels.
It is possible to access the first hidden level at the very beginning of the game. To solve the mystery, you must shoot every explosive barrel on the first map, then run to the teleporter at the start of the area. To give yourself more time, you’ll want to save your first barrel for the last. You’ll find it at the very beginning. If that sounds like too much work, you can skip this secret and not miss any of the Demon Keys. However, you will have to find the barrels and shoot them all in order to get to Map32: Hectic.
Hectic unlocks the “Features” option on the N64 original and primarily provides you earlier access to the rocket launcher. It also features a lot of things that, if you try to get them, are secured by traps that will kill you.
A secret level awaits you on the fourth map of Doom 64. At the end of the level, you’ll find some circular columns lining up toward a door. In order to build a bridge you can sprint over, you need to activate the switches on an elevated platform overlooking these circular columns in a specific pattern.
After pressing these (from left to right) in this order, you’ll be teleported into a secret room that contains the exit to Map29: Outpost Omega. Using the teleporter to the right of the exit, sprint across the columns to reach it. The first Demon Key will be found here.
You can find the third secret level on the game’s twelveth map. Once you’ve collected the yellow key, survey the area. A switch and a pillar will appear near the lower level where you’ll find the Soulsphere. You have to run to the platform with the sphere from where the key was. Then you can look at your automap to see if there is an arrow pointing at a hidden wall. Run through that to enter the room with the hidden exit. Kill the adversary before moving on to Map 30: The Lair.
It’s a bit late in the game to find the final hidden level. As you work toward the normal exit on the eighteenth level, you will descend a small set of stairs before moving up another one. There will be a door behind you as you do this. The map31: The Void can be reached by turning around immediately, running through the yellow door, taking a left, another left, and running into a small cave until you see a teleporter that has recently opened.
So this was everything you need to know about the Doom 64 Secret Levels.
