Arsenal Opinion: Dream Arsenal XI for next season’s Premier League

Arsenal pulled off some fairly impressive business prior to the start of the current season by bringing in some tough midfielders which has certainly strengthened their core. The addition of a forward like Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has also worked wonders for the Gunners this season.

Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira were a couple of other players who were brought in as well and both of them have performed exceptionally in the middle of the park. Despite all of these brillIant moves though, their weaknesses have come into light as the season progressed and it’s obvious what areas need to be addressed.

The need for a winger is quite urgent as Alex Iwobi’s inconsistent displays certainly can’t have filled Unai Emery with a lot of confidence. With the Mirror reporting that Ryan Fraser in on Emery’s radar, he might just have found the perfect solution to the winger issue.

In defence too, the injury to Hector Bellerin has ousted their defensive depth while the shabby performances being put in by Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac haven’t been appreciated either. The Independent are reporting that Barcelona man Samuel Umtiti and Bayern Munich star David Alaba are also being eyed by the Gunners.

Here’s the possible XI that Unai Emery can pick at the start of next season if all these transfers go through as planned:

GK – Bernd Leno

The German international has impressed heavily this season and is expected to keep his place with Petr Cech set to retire as well.

RB – Hector Bellerin

The Spaniard’s injury has kept him out this season but with a long future ahead, expect the youngster to return to full-flow very soon.

RCB – Sokratis Papastathopoulos

The Greek international centre-half has been the only assures head in the Arsenal back-line all season and deserves to keep his place.

LCB – Samuel Umtiti

The French World Cup winner has been a regular in the Barcelona XI for a while now and signing him would secure the Gunners’ defence.
