Dream Chelsea XI featuring Arsenal superstar Aaron Ramsey
Chelsea, under Maurizio Sarri, have enjoyed a brilliant start to their 2018/19 campaign. They have enjoyed success in the Premier League but the club are also involved in the Europa League and this could hamper Sarri’s title challenge.
After a recent match against PAOK in Greece, Chelsea’s squad was tired from a long journey and it was quite evident as the Blues limped to an uninspiring 0-0 draw with West Ham United. To convert such draws into victories, Sarri will need more bodies in the squad.
According to BBC, Arsenal did reach a four-year agreement with Aaron Ramsey to renew his contract but the Gunners pulled out at the last moment. So, as things stand, Ramsey would become a free agent and leave the club either for free in the summer or for a small fee in the January transfer window.
Hence, this is the perfect opportunity for Chelsea to swoop in for the Welshman and bolster their squad.
Dream Chelsea XI featuring Aaron Ramsey
Manager: Maurizio Sarri
Formation: 4-3-3
Kepa Arrizabalaga(GK)
The world’s costliest keeper looked shaky in his the first two games but since then, he has looked more settled and composed. He will be Chelsea’s No.1 for the foreseeable future.
Cesar Azpliicueta(RB)
Chelsea’s captain for the season is their best defender by a country mile. Despite not playing as a right-back in years, he has adapted to the role under Sarri. His attacking potential is not on the same level as Marcos Alonso but his presence brings a sense of calmness around the Chelsea backline.
David Luiz(CB)
The Brazilian has repaid his manager’s trust with a series of solid performances, most notably against Liverpool where he was Chelsea’s best player on the pitch.
Antonio Rudiger(CB)
The German arrived last summer but failed to nail a first-team berth under Antonio Conte. But under Sarri, he has been a rock at the back. The German has played every minute of the Premier League season so far and barring an injury, he must continue being one of the first names on the teamsheet.
Marcos Alonso(LB)
Alonso has probably been the best left-back in the Premier League for more than two seasons now. He must continue working in the same manner for the Blues.
Jorginho(CM)
Jorginho has enjoyed a smooth start to his Chelsea career so far. His presence in front of the back four allows the attackers to sprinkle the stardust without worrying much about the defensive part of the game.
N’Golo Kante(RCM)
Kante has been deployed in a more attacking role by Sarri and at times, this has caused Chelsea a lot of trouble. But Kante, along with Hazard, is the most important player in the team and the World Cup winner should continue to be that till the end of his Chelsea career.
Aaron Ramsey(LCM)
This is where Ramsey, who currently earns £110,000-a-week, slots in for Chelsea. He has played as an attack-minded central midfielder for Arsenal and has the capability to combine with Eden Hazard on the left. Also, his late runs in the box will be an additional threat as he could capitalize from the crosses supplied by Alonso and Azpilicueta.
Eden Hazard(LW)
Arguably the best player in the Premier League this season, Hazard is Chelsea’s talisman and the Blues need him to maintain his red-hot form.
Pedro(RW)
Pedro was instrumental in Conte’s league-winning season but his form fell drastically in the next term. But since Sarri’s arrival, Pedro has hit top form once again.

Oliver Giroud(ST)
The downfall of Alvaro Morata has allowed Giroud to nail the No.9 spot in the team. His link-up play with Hazard and Pedro, especially in tight areas, have been quite effective. Also, his huge physique allows him to hold the ball and bring the wingers into play.
