Drew McIntyre promised to claymore Celtic Legend Chris Sutton after Rangers exit Europa League

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre continued his spat with Celtic legend Chris Sutton on Twitter.

Scotsman McIntyre is a well-known fan of Scottish giants and Celtic’s bitter rivals Rangers. The Light Blues, under Steven Gerrard, enjoyed a scintillating 2020/21 campaign, winning their first Scottish Premiership title in over ten years.

In the process, the Gers also ended Celtic’s hopes of creating history by winning ten league titles in a row. With their league campaign wrapped up, Rangers focus was on progressing in the UEFA Europa League where they faced Slavia Prague in the Round of 16.

The first leg of the tie had ended in a 1-1 draw. And ahead of the second leg this past Thursday, McIntyre, a life-long Gers fan, combined with broadcasters BT Sport to create a promotion video.

Sutton, a Celtic legend, fired a dig at McIntyre as well as Rangers when the video was released. McIntyre, however, had hit back at the former striker, sharing an image of Sutton with fake tears, along with words “Your tears taste delicious”, insinuating that the ex-footballer turned pundit was bitter over Rangers’ title triumph.

Unfortunately for McIntyre, his beloved club Rangers could not make it past Slavia Prague losing 2-0 at Ibrox to crash out of the Europa League, following two red cards to Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun.

Sutton, post the game, continued his spat with McIntyre, sharing the BT sport promo clip while adding that he cannot look at the Scottish Warrior anymore.

McIntyre responded in kind, claiming that he would hit Sutton with his trademark finisher, the Claymore Kick the next time he ran into him.

The club he supports may have lost. But McIntyre will be hoping to avoid a similar fate when he clashes with best friend turned enemy Sheamus at the WWE Fastlane PPV this upcoming Sunday.

Following that, the Scottish Warrior has a WWE Championship shot at WrestleMania 37 next month against Bobby Lashley.
