Cody Rhodes, who is also called as the American Nightmare, faced Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38
Cody Rhodes made a not so surprise return to WrestleMania 38 as he faced Seth Rollins. The American Nightmare had been rumoured to be making his WWE return on the greatest stage of them all, and he did not disappoint.
Rollins and Rhodes put on a show, which was expected for a show like WrestleMania. There were also some interesting reactions from across the wrestling world.
This might have been a bit of a blow for AEW since they lost one of their biggest stars to their rivals. Rhodes left WWE nearly six years ago and then started AEW. However, life seems to have come full circle as the American Nightmare is back in WWE.
Rhodes’ half-brother, Dustin Rhodes, decided to share his thoughts on the return. He posted a great message on Twitter and supported the American Nightmare against Rollins.
Rollins came into WrestleMania not knowing who he was going to face at the event. Many already had speculated that it was going to be Rhodes, and the surprise reveal wasn’t that big of a deal.
However, the match was great fun and it was the longest one of the first night of WrestleMania as well.
Rhodes was able to get the pinfall win over Rollins and there is a lot of intrigue over how WWE will book him in the coming weeks.
The American Nightmare also posted a few works after the match on Twitter, though he didn’t give much away.
Rhodes could continue his rivalry with Rollins which would allow WWE to flesh his character more. He was Stardust in WWE before he left, but it seems that character will not be returning for now.
