Edge addresses his attack on Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan on WWE SmackDown

WWE Superstar Edge has opened up on why he attacked the Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan this past Friday on SmackDown.

Edge, having won the WWE Royal Rumble 2021, is set for a title shot against Reigns at WrestleMania 37 next month. Ahead of the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’, things have been heating up between the pair big time.

In the mix is also Daniel Bryan, who made Reigns tap out at Fastlane earlier this month but Edge’s interference cost him the Universal Championship.

With the ‘American Dragon’ demanding another shot at the title at WrestleMania, WWE official Adam Pearce decided to insert him into the match as well, confirming that Edge will face off against both Reigns and Bryan in a triple threat match for the Universal Championship.

Following the announcement, all hell broke loose as Edge once again teed off both the superstars, taking them out with chair shots.

Opening up on his vicious attack on the champion and his fellow challenger on SmackDown, Edge took to Instagram, where he posted an image of the attack, along with the caption that read:

“Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. Everyone forgot. I had to remind.”

Whether this points towards a full-blown heel turn for the Rated-R Superstar isn’t quite clear yet. But, nevertheless, his recent actions have only served to add further intrigue to what was already an action-packed storyline surrounding the WWE Universal Championship.

WWE hasn’t missed a beat on this one so far, with some solid booking all-round. And it goes without saying that a triple threat between the trio is certain to bring the house down at WrestleMania 37.
