For the first time since 1999, the US Open will witness an all-teenage women’s singles final, and this will also be the first time two unseeded players take centre stage in the final since the Open Era began in 1968 – courtesy, Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez.

The most impressive thing is that she is yet to drop a set, and also made it to the main draw after winning three qualifying matches in quick succession.
In her path stands another teenage sensation, Leylah Fernandez. The Canadian turned 19 just 4 days ago, and has been ruthless throughout the tournament.
She is coming off a three-set win over Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals – 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. Prior to that, she had been on a giant-killing spree, defeating favourite Naomi Osaka in the third round, Angelique Kerber in the Round of 16 and Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals.
Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez have never met before on the senior professional stage. Their head-to-head record reads 0-0.
However, the pair met once on the junior stage back in July 2018 at Wimbledon (Juniors). Raducanu won the match in straight sets – 6-2, 6-4.
