Why Manchester United must allow Juventus to re-sign Paul Pogba
According to Daily Mail, Italian giants Juventus are ready to make a sensational move for midfielder Paul Pogba. It is concurrently understood that the Red Devils are willing to listen to offers for the French World Cup winner. His fractious relationship (Source: SkySports) with manager Jose Mourinho, especially towards the latter part of last season, may just tempt the club to sell the player.
If the Serie A champions do bid for the player, United should sell him without hesitating. Here’s why keeping Pogba won’t do any justice to his talent and progress of the club.
Mourinho’s contradictory system
It is a cliché that Jose Mourinho’s system doesn’t suit every player, but it’s been effective over the years, especially in the Premier League. Pogba has often struggled to perform in a restricted midfield role and that is crystal clear. He has laboured through his time at Old Trafford in two minds – whether to fit into the formation or play his own way.
One of the main rationales of them being unable to gel in the dressing room starts from the contradiction on the field, which won’t get sorted unless the player agrees to what the manager says. And from the corroboration we have witnessed so far, it doesn’t look like Pogba will back down from his natural playing instincts.
Performing terrifically well in the World Cup has further enhanced his reputation which won’t better Mourinho’s mood towards him. So, it will be sensible for the club to let go of the player and look to replace him with an asset suited to the current system.
Conclusion
All the facts point towards one direction, i.e, Pogba leaving Manchester United would be a sensible decision for both parties. The Frenchman was a huge success at Juventus and shouldn’t mind going back to perform in Turin.
