West Ham are willing to sell Manuel Lanzini – Is it a right decision?

As per The Sun, West Ham are looking for offers for Manuel Lanzini. The Londoners are letting him leave as Moyes looks to rebuild his squad ahead of the new season. The Hammers have had a really tough season and have managed to secure their place in the Premier League following their 3-1 victory over the Hornets.

The 27-year-old joined West Ham initially on a loan from Al Jazira FC and then made a permanent move 6 months later.

This season has been tough for the player, who has endured a torrid campaign. It now it looks like the Argentine isn’t their first choice anymore. This season, Lanzini has just managed three assists in 24 games. Over the last couple of years, the South American has faced injuries and has never been able to get back to form.

Manuel Lanzini contract: West Ham talks confirmed after returning ...

Lanzini, on his day, is a quality creative player due to his incisive passing and a good vision. West ham, on the other hand, need addition. They have to add a couple of reinforcements to their backline and bring in more midfielders. Strengthening all of those positions won’t come cheap for sure.

Should West Ham sell Lanzini?

Manuel Lanzini has failed to find that sparkle and Pablo Fornals is clearly preferred more for this position. The Argentinian has looked pretty rusty but it is true that Lanzini would have been a man in demand had it not been for the long-term injury. But that situation no longer stands.

The academy product of famous Argentine club River Plate is no longer that indispensable player at West Ham. The Hammers should try to find a good buyer and should try to reinvest the funds in important areas that require rebuilding.

Lanzini’s good days were there but they seem to be gone now. Hence, West Ham are better off replacing the technically-gifted player with an experienced face in the midfield and cover other areas ahead of the new season.

If West Ham’s target is going to be Europe after a struggling season, then they need to make the investment and offload some players to raise some money.
