Here is everything you should know about if sportscaster Erin Andrews became a mother.
Erin Andrews and Jarret Stoll have been dreaming of becoming parents for almost a decade, but their journey was not easy. The FOX sports reporter, 45, and her husband, a former NHL player, faced several challenges with infertility and IVF treatments. They decided to pursue surrogacy as their last hope to have a biological child.
Their rep confirmed to this on 11th July, 2023 that their dream came true when they welcomed a baby boy via a surrogate. The couple, who tied the knot in 2016 after four years of dating, are overjoyed and grateful for their son. They have not shared any more details about their baby, such as his name, birth date or weight.
Their son’s arrival is the culmination of a long and difficult journey to start a family. Andrews and Stoll have been open about their struggles and their decision to use a surrogate. They hope that their story will inspire and support others who are going through similar experiences.
Erin Andrews opens up about her difficult journey of being pregnant
Andrews had to deal with a frightening diagnosis in 2016 when she learned that she had cervical cancer and needed surgery. She and Stoll had already taken the precaution of freezing embryos before she discovered her cancer, as they were planning to have a baby someday.
She opened up to Health in 2017 about how this situation affected them. “I’m not young, we don’t know when we’re gonna have a baby, we don’t know if this is going to come back. I’m so grateful that my future husband listened to our oncologist, who advised us to have some insurance ready—so we have frozen embryos in case we need them. If we don’t, we don’t. We just wanna be smart.”
She said that having frozen embryos gave them some peace of mind and hope for the future. She also praised Stoll for being supportive and understanding throughout the process. She said that they were determined to overcome the challenges and start a family together.
Andrews shared the hardships of her seventh IVF attempt in a 2021 personal essay on Facebook’s Bulletin. She wrote, “This whole experience can be for nothing — that’s the crazy part. It’s a lot of money, time, mental and physical pain. And most of the time, they don’t work. I think that’s why many people keep quiet about it.”
“You never know who else is going through this; it could be anyone around you. There are more people than you think,” she said.
“Now that I’m doing this again, something changed. Why am I hiding this when it’s part of our lives? We need more love, not shame. It sucks, because it feels so lonely. But there are many of us in this, and it’s not talked about.”
