Lori Vallow is a mother who, after spiraling downward into religious fanaticism and paranoia, finds herself standing trial for the deaths of her two children. Leading up to the tragic events, Lori joined a fringe sect of Mormonism led by fifth husband Charles Daybell, believing she was in communication with angels and that the world would end in 2020.
Vallow and Daybell have since been charged in connection with several killings and remain in detention. Vallow’s trial began on April 3, while Daybell’s trial is set to begin in the coming months. The docuseries features Interviews with Vallow’s son, Colby Ryan; her mother, Janis Cox; former sister-in-law, Annie Cushing; former friend, April Raymond; reporter Justin Lum; and Colby’s wife, Kelsee Ryan.
What happens in the Lori Vallow series?
This series presents various points of view from the people who know Vallow and Daybell and experienced the events leading up to the deaths of their family members.
The episodes detail Vallow’s seemingly stable upbringing and a timeline of her adult years during which she was married five times, had two children and adopted a third. Raised a Mormon, Vallow’s beliefs became increasingly fringe over time. In 2018, she met Daybell, the leader of a radical Mormon sect that was preparing for the end times.
Vallow believed she was able to communicate with angels and that the end of the world would take place in July 2020. The series follows the details and aftermath of Vallow and Daybell’s alleged crimes.
