The Toronto rapper took home $1.4 million after the 2022 Super Bowl, cashing In on Odell Beckham Jr.’s first quarter touchdown and the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Drizzy’s three bets were as follows: around $472,364 on the Rams to win outright (payout: $713,244); $393,636 on Beckham Jr. having more than 62.5 receiving yards (payout: $712,457); and $393,636 on OBJ to score at least one TD (payout: $846,288).

After getting a good chunk of money, Drake posted a poem dedicated to OBJ on his Instagram page. The Grammy Award-winning rapper wrote: “I wish I got my flowers when everything wasn’t rosey/How I’m supposed to smell em when everyone’s being nosy/Pictures of me victorious they making with Adobe make me thankful that a trophy was never what made me cozy.”

Drake added: “For now, I just want to feel something/After that I wanna heal something/And after that I wanna build something/But today I just fulfilled something @obj.” The post has since been deleted. OBJ, meanwhile, made a cameo appearance in Drake’s April 2020 music video, ‘Laugh Now, Cry Later. At times, Drake has raked in millions, but the rapper has also managed to pick up the reputation of bringing a curse down on those who he backs. The ‘Drake curse’ has fast become a phenomenon in sport, with numerous teams and athletes losing an upcoming sporting event after coming into contact with him.

The 36-year-old rapper most recently made headlines for his audacious £335,000 ($400,000) stake on Jake Paul knocking Tommy Fury out. Unfortunately for Drake, Brit Fury defeated American Paul via a split decision in Saudi Arabia, leaving the rapper’s pockets significantly less filled. Drake also put £837,000 ($1m) down on Argentina to win and would have stood to win more than £2.26m ($2.75m) had Lionel Messi’s side won in normal time. Although Argentina ultimately triumphed on penalties, a technicality saw Drake facing another substantial loss.

Drake, who wagered a total of £801,000 ($965,000) on the bets celebrated on Instagram, posting a story of Mahomes and Travis Kelce celebrating, with the caption: ‘Pay that man his MONEYYYYYYY Eddie @Stake.’
