Formula 1 and the music industry could be closing in on its next great power couple after the links between Lewis Hamilton and Shakira appeared to grow closer on Sunday. That’s after the South American songstress was pictured attending the Spanish Grand Prix, where Hamilton put in a season’s best performance en route to second place.
Both Mercedes drivers podiumed in the same race for the first time this season as George Russell finished third, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won for the fifth time in seven races so far this term. But Hamilton was all smiles after the race and celebrated the result as a sign the Silver Arrows are trending upwards.
And that perhaps wasn’t the only reason he had to be happy after he and Shakira headed for dinner and drinks following the race in Barcelona. It marked the second time in less than a month that the star duo have been snapped with one another.
Shakira was also in attendance at the Miami Grand Prix in May, though the Briton wasn’t as productive on that occasion after placing sixth. The F1 legend was photographed hanging out with Shakira on a boat in Florida, urging fans to believe a new romance is blossoming. The pair have even been given their own ‘Shakilton’ moniker in the event they do go official.

Before her latest links to Hamilton, Shakira was married to former Barcelona and Spain footballer Gerard Piqué, with whom she shares multiple children. The couple only broke up last year, and Shakira has sent a number of shots to her ex-husband in her songs since.
According to various reports, Lewis Hamilton’s last known girlfriend was Camila Kendra, a model of Dominican origin who is nine years younger than him. However, Hamilton never confirmed the relationship, and by March 2022, there were already rumors of a breakup, assuming there was something to break up in the first place.
