The riveting tale of numerous women from very different backgrounds is told in “If Loving You Is Wrong.” Despite having been handed various situations, the group of women is united by one thing: their children. Each lady is either a single mother attempting to raise her children or a woman trying to become pregnant while dating and keeping relationships.
Perry’s heroines often find themselves battling every social evil affecting society as they battle endless opposition to have a profession, well-adjusted children, and a guy who will be at home when they turn the key each evening, like so many women in middle-class areas throughout America.

Between September 9, 2014, and June 16, 2020, the television series aired. The five men and wives who share a street (Castillo Lane) in the imaginary town of Maxine are the subject of the play’s main narrative.
As the five female characters, Alex, Kelly, Marcie, Esperanza, and Natalie, on “their journey to find love in the middle of managing extremely complicated lives,” the program stars Amanda Clayton, Edwina Findley, Heather Hemmens, Zulay Henao, and April Parker Jones.

The Single Moms Club, a Perry movie from 2014, is a vague inspiration for If Loving You Is Wrong. Esperanza, played by actress Zulay Henao in the film, was repeated for the TV series, although the plot and character were changed. On January 9, 2014, a straight-to-series order was made in writing. The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), it debuted on September 9, 2014, and the first hour of the season finale aired on November 4, 2014.
With a higher rating than The Haves and the Have Nots, the series debut established a new record for OWN. On March 24, 2015, the second episode of the first season aired. The show received a second season renewal with 22 more episodes on February 27, 2015. On September 22, 2015, the second season officially began. On March 15, 2016, the second half made its debut. The show received a third-season renewal from OWN. On September 13, 2016, the show’s third season debuted.
The return of the show for its fifth season was teased by OWN on January 7, 2020, with the phrase “coming soon.” Season five, which debuted on March 31, 2020, was designated as the series’ last season by OWN on February 5, 2020. On June 16, 2020, the series’ conclusion aired. A cast reunion special called “Oh So Right,” which debuted on June 30, 2020, was announced by OWN on June 25, 2020.
