Gang Doo and Moon Soo are the protagonists of the storyline Just Between Lovers. Soccer has always been Lee Gang Doo’s ideal career. But a horrific event that results in the death of his father and a broken leg dashes all of his hopes. As a result, he stays in treatment for three years. He spends his days after getting back since he has nothing to do until running across Ha Moon Soo, who ends up permanently altering his life.
Using scale models of buildings, Ha Moon Soo creates works of art. Unfortunately, her tragedy was the same as that which took her younger sister’s life. As a result of her experience, Moon Soo is feeling survivor guilt. By suppressing her feelings and taking a serious approach to life, she tries to rid herself of the guilt. She starts talking about her unspoken emotions, however, once she meets Gang Doo.
What happened by the end of Just Between Lovers?
Kang Doo survived off of debt obtained from loan sharks after losing everything in the disaster. As he continues to work many jobs to pay off debt, his sister will soon become a doctor. His closest buddy now is the elderly woman who provided him with the loan years ago, and he doesn’t have any living relatives.
Most of her patients, who are employees like Kang Doo, she treats illegally. Kang Doo receives everything his Grandmother left for him when she died from a brain tumor. He fulfills her advice to pay off his debt. Due to all the unexpected cash they have acquired, he and his sister are now free from loan sharks and can live comfortably.
After the building fell, Moon Soo recalls how Kang Doo had assisted her in getting out. She regrets abandoning him and takes responsibility for his present state of health and mentality. She is hesitant to believe that she is not to blame for anything, despite Kang Doo’s assurances. But, when Kang Doo’s sister Jae-senior Young’s physician informs her that her brother may be ill, she tests him and discovers that his liver will fail and that he might pass away at any moment if he does not find a suitable donor.
While Moon Soo is unaware of this, she learns about it when Kang Doo collapses at her door. Thankfully, Kang Doo locates a donor and lives. Together, they finish the memorial park project and let go of all the lingering memories from the past. After they meet one other, they experience real inner tranquility.
