Snowfall Season 6 ending: What happens to Franklin Saint?

What happened to Franklin Saint at the end of Snowfall Season 6? Learn all you need to know as the show’s co-creator breaks it down.

Snowfall co-creator and executive producer Dave Andron has broken down the crime drama’s surprising series finale. The FX series came to an end after six seasons on Wednesday night (April 20), concluding with Franklin Saint hitting rock bottom.

Damson Idris’ Franklin Saint met an end on the series finale of Snowfall

Franklin Saint (played by Damson Idris), who we first met on a bright summer day full of promise and big dreams, ended the series on that same street hopeless, delusional and destitute. He was last seen wandering away from the house he bought for his mother — his final possession — as officers from the L.A. Sheriff’s Department swooped in to evict him over unpaid property taxes.

Franklin’s mother Cissy ended up in prison after killing Teddy, and following a confrontation with Veronique, Franklin later learned that Veronique took most of his remaining money and left to raise their child in another country.

What else did the co-creator have to say about the ending?

Andron was also asked if they had ever considered killing Franklin off, but, in doing this, he said it would essentially let him “off the hook”.

I, personally, would shy away from him dying, partly because it felt a little easy, This is a guy who brought the devastation in his neighbourhood, brought cocaine into it [and] did everything he could to push it,” he shared. “It just felt like for him to get killed was letting him off the hook. For him to have to live in the hell that he created, it felt like there was a certain level of dramatic irony in that.”

Franklin pretty much ends up where he first started, and Andron told TVLine that it “breaks him” as the last of his cash runs out until he has nothing left. “He fully breaks, and he gives up. After saying that he’s never going to do it, he just can’t,” Andron said. “He can’t take it all in and cope with it, ending with that guy broken on the street that we started on very much felt like the surprising and yet inevitable end to our show.”
