Prime Video’s Swarm made a great start with its Season 1 leaving the fans wanting for more.
However, nearing the end of season 1, the story is up for a few more surprises as well as a lot of questions being left behind.
Dominque Fishback plays the character of Dre- being posed as the protagonist, who gets the taste of murder after being left alone due to a terrible accident and finally drives to meet Ni’Jah, a popstar and her object of affection.
As much as it looks like Dre is a figment of fiction, the writers have a different story to narrate. The most important rumors and flashy events have been picked up from 2010 reported real events. The final episode titled ‘Only God Makes Happy Endings’ gives an idea that the end might be a bittersweet one.
Swarm Season 1, Contemplating the End of the Swarm: A Thrilling Conclusion
Dre is a character of truth as Naber’s talks about but also a depicted girl with love in her heart. In a twisted version that the series has presented, Dre looks up to Ni’Jah hailing from the same space and into similar familial relationships. Dre makes up to Ni’Jah’s concert but what follows isn’t expected.
In Naber’s words, the ending has been planned to keep the ends open, clarifying as she says; “We wanted to give that very ambiguous ending where people can put their own thought process onto it if they want to.”
The series ends with NiJah’s face being replaced with that of Marissa’s. The disguised form, out of the blue invites her to sing to the crowd. When considering the setting like the one posed in Swarm, Nabers says it’s almost impossible to accept how the ending shows a limo belonging to Ni’Jah where Dre and her leave straight from the concert only to embrace each other.
Any person would be treated as a miscreant if they tried entering a scenario like this in real. Nabers adds that the very fact that no one knows what eventually happens to Dre catalyzes a story ahead. However, she also commented this mind ends up being a limited series laying the concept of God for Dre’s happy ending open to interpretation.
