The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, are known as two of the famous twins around in Hollywood. The twins’ biggest claim to fame is their appearances in their TV show known as Mary-Kate and Ashley. The show ran for a number of years, making the twins extremely popular across the USA and the world.
A series of musical mystery videos called The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley featuring the twins premiered in 1994 and continued through 1997. In 1995, following the end of Full House, the Olsens made their feature film debut in It Takes
Two, co-starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirstie Alley, In 1998, the twins returned to series television with another ABC sitcom, Two of a Kind, co-starring Christopher Sieber as their characters’ widowed father. The series lasted only one season but aired in reruns on cable.
1998 also saw the release of Billboard Dad, the first of a new string of direct-to-video films starring the Olsens. However, having kept their distance from the media for years, they were back in the news after one of the twins contracted a disease in 2015.
Ashley Olsen is reportedly battling Lyme Disease – a debilitating bacterial illness, which Avril Lavigne also suffered from.
Olsen has reportedly been diagnosed with Lyme disease after suffering tick bites several years ago. The 28-year-old fashion designer is said to be battling the debilitating bacterial illness – caused by bites from parasitic arachnids – which causes pain in the sufferer’s skin and joints and problems with the heart and nervous system.
A source close to the actress told America’s OK! Magazine: “She’s really sick. It’s gotten worse. “She was diagnosed in the very late stages so early detection measures weren’t options for her. She’s really going through it.” The disease has reportedly affected her ability to work.
