Why did Alex Murdaugh kill his family? The question has stunned the world with an unthinkable answer.
Alex Murdaugh, a lawyer based in South Carolina, murdered his wife and son at the family’s Colleton Property. Alex belonged to a family of well-established legal family in the Low County region of South Carolina.
The investigators revealed that Alex Murdaugh shot his 22-year-old son twice with a shotgun. He shot his wife, Maggie Murdaugh four to five times with a rifle. He was also accused of robbing million at his own firm, from which he retired in September 2021.
The amount quoted by the law firm was around $14 Million. Murdaugh even admitted to the court that he spent $50,000 on drugs monthly. “It might not have been you. It might have been the monster you’ve become when you take 15, 20, 30, 40, 60 opioid pills,” said, Judge Clifton Newman.
“Maybe you become another person. I’ve seen that before. The person standing before me was not the person who committed the crime, though it was the same individual. We’ll leave it at that,” Judge Newman added.
The trial of Alex Murdaugh was not a straightforward conversational decision. He adamantly denied the claims that supported the decision of his life sentence. Juror Craig Moyer vocalized the scenario to Good Morning America, “I was certain it was [Murdaugh’s] voice, everybody else could hear [Murdaugh’s voice] too.”
He made his claims as earlier a phone was shown as evidence, Moreover, that evidence made the jurors believe it was Alex Murdaugh who was guilty.
