Record of Ragnarok is a Japanese manga series written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika about a fighting tournament featuring prominent historical figures against gods from various mythologies, with the fate of mankind in the balance.
It began in Coamix’s (formerly also published by Tokuma Shoten) seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. It was licensed in North America by Viz Media in June 2021. The manga was adapted as an original net animation (ONA) by Graphinica and premiered on Netflix in June 2021.
The Gods’ Council assembles once every millennium to decide the fate of humanity, deciding that mankind’s 7 million years of irredeemable history gives justification for their extinction. But the Valkyrie Brunhilde proposes giving humanity one last chance to prove their worth and the gods agree to hold the tournament of Ragnarok, where humanity will be spared if they can best the gods in seven out of thirteen matches.
One of the characters in the manga is Hades, who fought in the tournament. However, fans have been asking about who did Hades fight and who came out on top.

Hades fought Qin Shi Huang at the Ragnarok tournament, and also defeated him.
Despite being a king, Hades believes that Poseidon was the God most worthy of the title. Although Poseidon’s death was the motivation for Hades to participate in the Ragnarok tournament, he didn’t become blinded by rage and hatred; instead, he remained level-headed and kept his composure since the beginning of his match.
In fact, the only time he lost control of himself was upon discovering that his opponent, Qin Shi Huang, shared a similar view on kingship to that of the late Poseidon, to which Hades’ response was to burst out howling with laughter at the irony. He also grew to genuinely respect his opponent’s skills as both a warrior and a fellow king. He called the curse that had plagued Qin Shi Huang all his life an unfortunate blight, implying that he would never inflict such a curse on an enemy.
