Jerry Angelo Brooks, also known as J.B. Smoove, who was born on December 16th, 1965, is a popular American actor, comedian, and writer. J.B. Smooke grew up in Mount Vernon, New York. He spent the majority of his time around his mother, and he lost his father at the age of 15.

He made his television debut on the standup comedy series Def Comedy Jam in 1992. He starred in the movie Pootie Tang (2001) and played the role of Trucky.
