During weekend 27 of her Las Vegas residency, the singer had an interesting conversation with a fan, in which she refers to Paul as her husband. It all happened when a female fan asks Adele to marry her. “You can’t marry me—I’m straight, my love. And my husband’s here tonight, he’s here,” Adele tells the fan. “Can you try?” the fan then asks.
“No, I don’t want to try, I’m with Rich. You’re crazy! Leave me alone,” Adele replies jokingly. Adele also sparked rumours she and Rich are engaged after she donned a huge diamond ring at the 2022 BRITs! Following months of speculation, she cleared up the speculation and spilled that she’d love to get married and have more children.
Who is Rich Paul?
Rich is a superstar sports agent whose client list includes LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Ben Simmons.
Paul has worked as a sports agent since 2022, when he worked at an artist agency. 10 years later, he founded his own agency called Klutch Sports Group. The entrepreneur is from Cleveland, Ohio and has always been business-minded, starting out his career by selling retro sports jerseys out the back of his car, according to Sportskeeda. In 2002, he met LeBron James who was apparently impressed by a Warren Moon top Paul had on at the time.
LeBron and Rich grew close, with the NBA icon even welcoming the budding businessman into his inner circle and eventually working together. Rich worked alongside LeBron’s agent for a few years before setting up his own agency in 2012 called Klutch Sports Group, taking LeBron with him.
Rich is said to be worth over $100million from his years as a sports agent. He’s apparently brokered over $1billion worth of contract deals between his clients and their teams. Amongst his roster of clients are two high profile Los Angeles Lakers stars; Anthony Davis and LeBron, who have been on the team since 2019 and 2018 respectively.
When did Adele and Rich Paul start dating?
Adele and Rich were friends before they started dating around summer 2021. She told Rolling Stone they first met at a mutual friend’s birthday party – on the dance floor in classic romance fashion. The pair became friends before things turned romantic, with the singer telling Vogue: “He was always there, I just didn’t see him.” She sweetly added: “I just love being around him. I just love it.”
The pair went unintentionally public with their romance in Phoenix, where the two are captured getting cuddly courtside during a game between the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks at the NBA Finals. Insiders at Us Weekly and People then confirmed that the two have been dating officially for several months, traveling coast to coast between New York and Los Angeles to make things work. Following their appearance, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst explicitly refers to Adele as Paul’s girlfriend on The Lowe Post, adding, “This is the first time that they’ve come out in public together.”
Soon after, Adele went official with Paul on Instagram with a sweet, affectionate shot of the two inside a photo booth at Paul’s client Anthony Davis’s wedding. “They were so nice,” a family member of the bride told Us Weekly of the two at ceremony. “[Paul] was at the table the whole time, and he let her just do whatever she wanted. … She was dancing with everybody. They would hug at the table. They’re a nice couple.”
