Eric Bienemy started off as a running backs coach for the Buffaloes for a short period from 2001 to 2002. He then was the running back coach for UCLA for almost three years, from 2003 to 2005.

His big break came in 2005 after UCLA won the 2005 Sun Bowl. Bieniemy made it to the NFL and became the running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings.

He spent over five years at the Vikings, and on the 26th of July, 2010 he also became the assistant head coach for the offense.

Several months later, on the 2nd of December, 2010, Bieniemy became the offensive coordinator of Colorado.

A period of three years followed before he was hired by Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid in 2013. He became the running backs coach for the Chiefs.

After five years, Bieniemy was promoted to the position of offensive coordinator. He took the place of Matt Nagy.

Bieniemy was impressive in his first season as the offensive coordinator. The Chiefs stood first in the NFL – yards per game and points scored. It was also a season that saw Patrick Mahomes become a big star.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020 as well with Bieniemy playing an integral role in the team’s success. Kansas City once again won the Super Bowl in 2023 when they beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
