Eric Ambrose Gordon Jr. a.k.a Eric Gordon was the 2008, Round 1, 7th overall draft pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. Gordon plays in the position of Shooting guard / Small forward and he also won the 2017 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
Gordon played college basketball for Indiana University Bloomington from 2007 to 2008. Gordon had an excellent college career and was subsequently named Big Ten Freshman of the Year (2008) and to the First Team of the Big Ten Conference (2008). He was also a third-team All-American.
After playing college basketball, Gordon was selected seventh overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Gordon played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2008 to 2011. In his rookie year, that is the 2008-09 season, Gordon played 78 games, averaging 16.1 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game. Consequently, Gordon was unanimously selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team (2009) and finished fifth in Rookie of the Year voting.
On December 14, 2011, the Clippers traded Gordon to the New Orleans Pelicans. Gordon played for the Pelicans from 2011 to 2016.
Then on July 9, 2016, Gordon signed with the Houston Rockets. With the Rockets, Gordon won the 2017 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award. Notably, Gordon is also the 2017 NBA Three-Point Contest champion.
In 2020, Gordon played the NBA Playoffs with the Rockets but unfortunately could not win the NBA championship.
