Eric Young was responsible for Rich Swann picking up a serious injury and Swann confirmed his retirement recently
Rich Swann announced his retirement on this week’s Impact Wrestling but Eric Young had a parting gift for him.
Swann, a former X Division champion, was injured for a while but made his Impact Wrestling return at Slammiversary in the main event.
However, things didn’t go well for him as Young attacked Swann and injured his ankle. Swann appeared on this week’s show to confirm he was retiring from the wrestling ring.
While many Impact stars thanked Swann for his years in the industry, Young had other plans.
As Swann made his exit, Young attack him again. This time, he used Swann’s crutches and hit his injured ankle before running off.
Young has continued his war of words with Swann and took a swipe at the former WWE star. The former TNA and WWE star blamed Swann for his retirement.
It will be interesting to see how this develops into a storyline. Swann is still in the prime of his career and this could be an angle for him to recover from his earlier injury.
The former WWE star won the Cruiserweight title during his time with the promotion but he left the company a few years ago but found great success elsewhere.
However, things didn’t work out too well for Young when he switched to WWE. He was a bit of a success on NXT but his main brand call up didn’t quite work out.
He was one of the stars released by WWE during the Covid-19 outbreak and was snapped up by Impact Wrestling.
Young is one of the best and most experienced wrestlers in the world, and he seems to be enjoying being a heel in his new home.
